Body Talk

∙First things first, you paint these bodies from the inside.

Most people recommend that you clean the inside of the bodies with soap and water so the paint will adhere to it better. Some say that a light sanding with some fine grit sandpaper is good too.

∙If you want to do a sweet custom paint job than get yourself some painters tape or vinyl tape that doesn't leave a residue if you are feeling like a pro.

∙Remember to take into account that covering a light color with a dark color will make it darker. So if you want to keep it light than back it in white before going onto a dark. That being said, choose your order of colors wisely.

∙Keep your hands clean (the less oily your hands are the better)

∙Use shoe goo to reinforce the body

Here is what we are up against.
Try to not touch the edges of the window masks with your fingers. Use something like an Exacto-Knife for the edges or grasping it from the center.

These logos were kind of intricate and involved removing lots of little pieces. I recommend going through with an exacto and peeling up a bunch of the edges and then attacking it with the tweezers.

After doing a rough cut of the body you will end up with a bunch of scraps. Instead of throwing these away I would recommend cutting them up and reinforcing certain areas of the body. Cut, bend, and tweak them into the high stressed areas of the body.
At the very least: reinforce the holes for the body Mounts. I used a piece of titanium for the back but it isn't really necessary, just choose the thickest part of scrap lexan.

Do not clamp to hard or the glue will melt into the paint and make it look ugly.
